SPRING 24
DISORTED REALITY

*** UPCYLCING THRIFTED GARMENT

Distorted Reality is a wearable exploration of perception, power, and emotional entrapment. The garment embodies the tension between luxury and decay, past and present, mirroring the fractured self-image of a character trapped between childhood and adulthood. The upcycling process transforms remnants of grandeur—a discarded evening gown and a baroque-patterned curtain—into a reconstructed narrative of excess, control, and distortion.

Drawing inspiration from regal aesthetics twisted into something unsettling, the garment plays with asymmetry, structured draping, and deconstructed elegance. The clash of ornate patterns and raw, unfinished details reflects a warped vision of beauty, where extravagance is both celebrated and unraveled.
